About The Event
Formed in 1969 Talgarth Male Choir has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years. The choir has sung at the Royal Albert Hall on six occasions, twice at the Millennium Stadium as part of the World Choir and three times in the Festival of Remembrance concert at St. David's Hall, Cardiff.
The Alive & Kickin' Community Choir, based in Brecon, was founded in 2013 by singer songwriter Tanya Walker and is a choir for people of all backgrounds and singing abilities.
The concert will be compered by Mark Salmon, a London-based poet and chorister with London Welsh, Cor y Boro and Eschoir. Mark says of himself that he is "proudly from South Wales, a London Welshman since 2012. A former teacher of Mathematics retired to write of the moments that catch him out. Newly started as a poet from his teens and finally recognised it in himself at poetry jams he hosted in school. The joy of singing in London welsh choirs brings its own internal rhythm to some of his verse and as a great writer once said ‘love the words”
