Young Singers Award 2025

Applications for our 2025 Young Singer Award competition are now open. The competition will be held in Brecon on the afternoon of Saturday, March 8th.

​

The winner of the competition will be invited to sing at the grand concert of our 2025 festival in Brecon Cathedral on Saturday 19th July.​

​

The deadline for applications is 17th January 2025.

Penelope George was the winner of our 2024 Young Singer Award competition.​

Erin Thomas was our 2023 winner. In 2024 she

was placed 2nd in the National Eisteddfod - Under 25s Mezzo Soprano and joined the Juilliard’s intensive voice programme in June.

Our judges for the 2025 Young Singer Award will be Adrian Partington, Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral and conductor of the BBC National Chorus of Wales with soprano Liz Priday a specialist in Early and Baroque music. Liz has sung with the Monteverdi Choir, the Deller Consort and the Tallis Scholars and now enjoys passing on her expertise and enthusiasm to the next generation of singers
