An exhibition of work by pupils from Ysgol Penmaes and Ysgol y Bannau who have taken creative journeys in the summer term of 2025 which are shared through this display inspired by the artwork of Mildred Elsie Eldridge and her passion for landscape, botanical flora and creativity. Eldridge was the wife of R.S. Thomas.
Pupils at Ysgol Penmaes have worked with artist Jim Elliot to tell stories through animation, developing new digital creative skills. At Ysgol y Bannau there is a beautiful Wild Field (Ardal Wyllt) that is used for outdoor learning and forest school. Using this natural landscape as a starting point, pupils have explored their creativity and the artistic discipline of painting with artist Tanwen Wilkinson. The display follows the creative process of these expressive art projects while responding to Elsie Eldrige’s mantra ‘look, look, look at the detail’.
Funded by The Darkley Trust and Powys County Council and curated by The Muse Agency in partnership with Brecon Choir Festival.
