Leigh Hendra

Leigh is a proud and passionate Welsh woman who studied Literature & Theatre before embarking on the restoration of a listed building in Brecon and turning it into The Hours Cafe & Bookshop. The 'wonky green shop' re-located to the grounds of Brecon Cathedral in 2022 just in time to see Brecon's first Choir Festival unfurl it's wings.

An independent Bookseller, Bibliophile, and lifelong Music & Arts supporter Leigh curates Poetry & Literature events in the Bookshop/Tithebarn and is Co-founder and organiser of the month-long Brecon Women's Festival celebrating International Women's Day. The Hours partners on Music, Literature and Arts events year-round – Brecon Baroque and Brecknock Sinfonia among them - and is a host-venue for the town's iconic annual Jazz Festival.

An ardent advocate for all aspects of Welsh culture, particularly it's Choral and Oral traditions, Leigh, as a Director of Brecon Buzz CIC, is thrilled to continue to support and nurture Brecon Choir Festival as it cements it's place in the cultural calendar of the town. Ymlaen!
